Step 5: Meet the Flock — Discovering the People Behind the Brand
At this point in your journey, you’ve learned about the business, the culture, and the financial model. Now it’s time to meet the people who make Wild Birds Unlimited so special. Step 5 — “Meet the Flock” — brings the entire experience to life.
Why This Step Matters
Franchise ownership is a long-term relationship, and relationships thrive on connection. During this phase, you’ll visit (virtually or in person) our Franchise Support Center and engage directly with the team members who will guide you through your first year of ownership and beyond. You will meet, potentially with other candidates who are on this same journey, with each of our support team departments. You will learn more details about the support that they provide to our Franchise Store Owners, answer any further questions that you may have at this time and discuss the “best practices” that our franchisees implement to develop and grow their individual businesses.
We will also send you access to a site to complete an online personality assessment- Zorakle. While we do not use this tool as a “screen”, it is a great way for us to have further discussions about you, your business/life partner (if applicable) and what elements of operating and growing your own Wild Birds Unlimited may come naturally and where you will need to be more intentional or gather further training to assist you in meeting your goals.
What You’ll Experience
Here’s what typically happens during “Meet the Flock”:
- You’ll complete the Zorakle profile, a strengths-based personality assessment that helps ensure mutual alignment.
- You’ll participate in a detailed Operations Interview with our New Owner Development Coaches.
- You’ll meet our department leaders, from marketing and supply chain to training and nature education, and have a chance to ask candid questions about the support you’ll receive.
